Now, I am waiting on the Turbo 400 rebuild to be completed so I can paint the engine and transmission at the same time.

Color is a crap shoot right now.

My transmission is ready, should be able to pick it up Wednesday. Mate it to the engine and get it all painted and ready to place back in the chassis.

 

Well, got a little done the past couple of weeks. I picked up the transmission, got some floor panels painted and the engine.

 

Well, I got the engine and transmission in.

 

A case of two different batches!

I have spoken with Eastwood and I am waiting to see what the outcome will be. Based on my conversation with them, they have had a few calls regarding this batch.

I understand that there are variations from batch to batch, but this is a bit more wide, then it should be.

At least have enough of the original batch to paint my windshield and dash!

 

Just heard back from Eastwood. They are sending a new gallon of paint. I gathered from our conversation that there has been an issue with a couple of batches of this color. Wait and see what the next batch looks like.

 

Had to put some rear outer body mounts on, since I don't have the normal rear cross member. I am not a welder, still learning, getting better since this is not a super structural piece I figured I could do it. After a couple of attempts that I didn't like, I settled on this.

 

Is that gusseted?

 

No, both it is super heavy angle iron. I haven't welded the both yet, waiting to put it on my lift.

If it needs a gusset I can do it then.

 

Ah, I couldn't tell it was angle. Looked like just a heavy tab hanging on the weld.

 

I don't see any reason for a gusset on that. Maybe a big drill though. Measure four times and drill once.

 

That was my thinking. I made it wide enough to give me some slop for the body.

 

Been a crazy few days so I thought I would do something easy and instant gratification!

 

Had to do some adjustments to get the proper alignment. I am much happier with how it is sitting now.

 

Been a bit since I got something meaningful done....lost a week because of a sick pup.

 

Getting ready to take it to my welder to build the front crossmember/bumper and winch plate.

 

First time in 4 years it has seen daylight while on all 4's!

 

Now that brings back some old memories!
