The return solution, This should eliminate the excess pressure, and allow me to get some real data for a good tune.

Making progress, my new top of tank return works, could be because its plumbed better, or maybe returning to the bottom of the tank isn’t the best idea as suggested on the net. Either way my return pressure dropped from 5 to pretty much 0 with the new set up. I also took the time to set up my filter with quick disconnects. So now with the quick disconnects and the shutoff valve i put at bottom of the tank, i can replace my fuel filter in about 2 minutes with no tools and little fuel spillage. I used quick disconnects on the pump too, so i can change that with only a 7/16 wrench to remove the mounting clamp. I pre-made a couple extra fuel filter setups to have handy.

The way i figured it, this TBI system is pretty fuel proof, the only real issues involve fuel delivery, likely clogged filters or a bad pump. So by carrying a spare on the trail i can have either of these issues fixed very quickly

Now i can log some good data, burn another chip and see how it runs now

    jpflat2a what's that noise?

What's the running fuel pressure and can that plastic fuel filter handle it ?

System only runs at 13psi. But it doesn’t matter. The filter is before the pump, so no pressure

Those clear plastic filters are typically 10-20 micron, I would be concerned the pump would be working harder then it should pulling fuel from the tank through it. Around 100 micron before the pump and 10 micron between the pump and injectors is a good rule. Nothing on the return line where you're looking for 0 psi.

Curious if anyone following up with this has thought about running one of these for fuel needs? I have one a a wagoneer that I converted to FI and it's a very slick unit that lets you keep the factory fuel routing. FOr those that aren't familiar, it's a submersible electric fuel pump inside a container that is fed by the factory mechanical fuel pump and it already set up for bypass/return lines.

So, it looks and sounds terrific, is it better than a YF motor?

A pm to pfmg would be more appropriate in the technical section. Also using @pfmg would send a nother level of notification. He primarily is on another Jeep Forum so it might be harder to get his attention.
    Thank You! (y)
