Hi guy's been 5 years since i goes over a tbi kit on my amc 360. Kit is from affordable fuel injection. Work well since the install by i like to know if other has experience with different intake.

I run the original 2 barrel intake that i was having with the oem motorcraft 2100. I have very good result in the low rpm but everything over 3000 rpm my engine seem to loose all power.

One thing i saw is that the oem 2100 has 1.08" venturies. The tbi unit has 1.68" (1 11/16") venturies. Also find that the 2100 is capable around 300-330 cfm. The tbi unit can go up to 535 with a 305-350 unit and 670 with the 454 unit ( i run the 305-350 versions right now).

I was looking over square bore (4bbl) proformer aluminium intake from edelbrock.
Does it will make a difference in the higher rpm (3000 +) ?

I know you save a lot of weight with the aluminium intake.

What other opinions and experience in that case?

I run Affordable TBI on my 75 304. I swapped an Edlbrock into mine on install. That cast manifold weighs like 300 lbs. Performance wise my heap flat runs if you wannna rev it out.. The manifolds are reasonable price wise.. I figured why not since I was already pulling stuff off.

Did you find some difference in performance between stock and edelbroke?

It's been so long... I do believe it was the 4 bbl.. I used an adapter that Affordable provided. I went out and looked. It said Edlebrock Performer AMC. Installed the manifold when I did the TBI so can't vouch for any performance difference.

    nwedgar Now with TBI!

I use the Hamilton Fuel Injection (GM throttle body) with the Edelbrock Performer intake. I like the combo a lot and have had no issues from 0-4,500 RPM on my 360, has plenty of power. I try not to abuse the engine so I don't run high RPM very often at all, quite frankly I don't need it, plenty of torque with the T18 at lower gears and RPM.

I see you have done modification....but what is the modification ? Just remove some metal ?

Was about getting a major set back. The show that rebuilt my engine 6 years ago didn't put back the stock baffle on the intake...

Was searching on different forum yesterday and found a post from what i see a guru of amc engine rebuilt. he said to have done that modificaiton over 100 intake and never had a problem with it. Two piece of scotch bright and a put a metal sheet to cover it with hole for air circulation.
