Some day I might buy a new welder, but right now I have a choice between the Lincoln or the Miller. I have done a little welding with a borrowed one more like the older Lincoln. Either one is next to nothing in price, but I am not sure which is more appropriate for me. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The blue welders hold their value longer for resale. My first mig welder was a lincoln 180hd. It worked just fine for lighter stuff...

Always been partial to Miller Welders, but just as many friends have really nice Lincoln's.

Got the Dynasty 200DX which can do more than I have skill for.
Old Millermatic 130 just keeps on going but will only do small stuff.

Comes down to price and availability of consumables.

One LWS never had time to talk to me since I didn't weld for a living. Never cared for their attitude. The other LWS gave me an account and couldn't be better to work with.
When I bought the used Dynasty, the guy lived not to far from me so he came by and did the initial setup and showed me how to use some of the features.

I appreciate the comments. I thought the Millar weighted more as I moved both of them, so blue it is. At this point the only need I have for the welder is to notch the wheel well for more leg room.

While I was staying over at my nephew's last week, I tried his Harbor Freight Titanium MIG 140 he had recently bought. Using 75/25 gas, I was impressed at how nice it welded. I layed down some perfect beads on some 1/8" material, and had equally good results on joining 16 ga to 18 ga sheet metal. He paid a little less than $350 for it with a coupon.
I might watch for the coupon to pick one up to have a welder up at Hatteras.
