    Nice looking rig, my first '70 CJ was that color, I do like the color! Wish I still had it :(

    Even this letter is strange, being dated March 1970, while Renegade I's had been rolling off the assembly line at least 5 months earlier.

    No she was born that color for sure. Under the dash is green, inside of the storage under the passenger seat is green, inside of the fender wells is green and so on. I mean everything is possible but they should have completely disassembled it and then reassembled it for a total color change. I'm supposed to go and pick her up next weekend and then I'll start a thread on her. She'll need a major service but overall she's in pretty good shape for her age.

    The letter with a letter head dated March 1970, I believe that Kiaser sold the company to AMC in early February of that year. Seems odd to me for that stationary letter head.Anything is possible at that time though I have seen. I have a Sept 1971 cj5 that is mint green , renegade color , Which was a 1971 renegade 2 color Go figure

    I have a 70 avocado green jeep that I purchased new in March 1970 (original owner). Delivery may 1st 1970. It was not a Renegade color in spring 1970. AMC let public know of Kaiser purchase May 1st that year. Mine is a Kaiser jeep made Jan 1970.

    This is the whole point to the confusion brought on by Jeep regarding the Ren1. There is plenty of documentation from jeep (inc in my post above) stating that there would no colors other than the two stated. However on this site alone we have quite a few original owners or children of the original owners that still own these Ren1's along with photographic proof of additional colors outside of what Jeep said would be produced. This of course flys in the face of what Jeep had put out stating in yet another document that there would be no special orders of the Ren1. There is just entirely way to much proof out there that says otherwise.
