I don't think I've ever seen a Travelette with a long bed. I'd love to know if it was ordered that way or made that way later.

I'm partial to that vintage IH though most think they were ugly and boxy and ugly. I'd be curious to compare overall length to a modern crew cab 8' bed.

I'm amazed at the inside of the bed....it's in such good shape compared to the outside of the body. Coolest thing about the picture though is the old steel wheels tractor in the background.

Ad says 164" WB....an F350 crew cab long bed is 176".
That IH just looks loooong for some reason.

That smaller front tire is part of the reason it looks so long. But it does still look longer than a 164" wheelbase.

That’s crazy long. When the kids say “are we there yet?” You could reply, “well I am, but you’ve still got a few hours.”

They came factory with a divorced dana 300 transfer case easy swap to a modern small block fuel injected and overdrive auto transmission.

Pretty sure that's an aftermarket A/C unit, probably a Thermoking, if I had to guess, based off the logo on the side of it.

My research shows it should be an NP-202. Since the 300 wasn’t used by IH until 79 1/2’ and 1980 in Scout 2’s only that bears it out. The 300 wasn’t used until ‘80 in Jeep CJ’s and only 1980-1986. I’m unaware of any other use of the 300 in a factory configuration although many have been retrofitted for other uses. I once rebuilt one that was used in a piece of machinery used for moving coffins around. I did not ask if the coffins were used.
