225 V6 Clutch Fork Needed

I am in need of a new clutch fork for my 67 Dauntless 225 V6. The pivot spring on my current fork is broken off:

I tried to find one online but everyone says they are out of stock/backordered.

Does anyone know where I can get one? New or used would be ok if it works. Or is there a different model that can be made to fit, or can the spring be fixed/replaced?

For reference, one of the part numbers I was looking at was LUK LF9813.

I found one at Walcks that has worked well so far. I do recall having to tweak the spring a bit to make it work though.

After talking with several sellers I found only one that said they actually had a Crown arm available, and an eBay seller that had an original arm from a jeep that was being parted out.

I purchased the eBay part. It should arrive in a few days.

I've have the same problem of not being able to locate the proper clutch fork without being defective or weak. I decided to purchase the Novak clutch fork for their hydraulic clutch kit. It's a huge leap in quality . The springs line up on the ball stud and the throw out bearing fits much better. I measured up to my old fork and took a grinder to it. I carefully cut out the same shape and cable slot on the new fork. I just used my vise to carefully bend the cable slot ears and put a very small weld at each ear for strength. Wire wheeled and it was done. Works great.

I used an AA cast clutch fork [basically early Chevrolet truck #3765372] and an adjustable pivot ball. The biggest trick is to get the correct throw-out bearing for your style of clutch.

Sam at Partsdude4x4 told me that he has complained to Crown for their messed up crap, to no avail. The spring is mounted in the wrong position. We basically came up with-find a good used, or go with the Novak hydro fork. and, if you don't want to go hydro, you can still use the nice new fork, just adapt it to the clutch cable.

I got the eBay clutch fork. It was pretty rusty, but otherwise in good shape. Here it is compared to my broken fork:

I cleaned it up and installed it. It works fine.

If you can show me exactly what's wrong, I have a good contact that usually works on fixing manufacturing issues (he's always busy...!). I'm happy to try to help...it's worked for many other parts where the production product didn't match the samples and originals sent.

He could make a career out of trying to fix Crown and Omix-Ada trash alone. Until they are willing to do something about their garbage nothing will or can be done. The company has to want to improve their product.

I am parting out a 66 Dauntless, so when I pull the drivetrain apart this is a part I will salvage in case someone else needs one.

I would be interested in the clutch fork. The only extra one I have has a broken spring.

    jpflat2a what's that noise?

Used to be able to buy just the spring from GM.
But maybe I am aging myself.

I remember when Crown sold good parts back in the day, like early/mid 1970’s. Parts came in Crown boxes that were re-boxed OEM or “Seal Tested” parts, again re-boxed OEM surplus. Sometime in the ‘80s, they started selling the repop junk.
I think I still have one or two D18 “small parts kit” in a Crown box that has the OEM “Jeep” sealed plastic bag of rollers thrust washers, etc. inside.

Still have some parts in Crown boxes from that era sitting on the shelves.
But they are a hard sell nowadays as folks know how crappy their parts are.
We used to buy a lot of parts from Crown, Transportation Parts (Seal Tested), Rancho Jeep and a couple of others that slip my mind.
Our AMC/Jeep parts rep was not very happy with us at times; but when we could show him the difference in price between Crown and Jeep, for the same identical part. He didn't have much to say.
