What is this M416 missing? *pics* *more pics 1/25/08*

I'm going to look at this M416 over the weekend. Can you folks give me some ideas of what is missing and what is original. I know the wheels are CJ wheels I believe. What else?

Are all the data plate there? Looks like it's in pretty good shape.

The data plates are there, but aren't really legible.

I tell you - I'm so amazed my landing leg isn't bent like that. Thank goodness for the high clearance of these trailers. I've gone down the road with the leg in the middle position a small number of times...

Here are some more pictures of the trailer. It looks like there is a good bit of surface rust on the underside, but what do you guys think? The asking price is $425, but it doesn't have a title and PA is a real PITA about getting titles for things without them. Just wondering if you folks see any major problems? I'm going to look at it tomorrow morning (Saturday).

Nice trailer. Should be a relatively light restore project.

The title issue is as simple as the state it is purchased in. if you purchased it from a person in Georgia or Alabama for instance, it would not require a title due to the age. a bill of sale from the seller in one of those states is accepted in all states as legal transfer of ownership for vehicles that old.

an interesting fact is that the online title service companies that advertise they can get you a clear title for any owned vehicle make use of these laws to perform their services. they will charge you about $150 to get you a title... something to keep in mind when making an offer on the trailer.
