Is it trying to backfire during the start? my first instinct would be there is a little moisture in the distributor that has found a tiny crack in the cap and is residing in the crack and providing a path either between contacts or to ground.

Are you getting good blue sparks at the plugs? if so maybe you can rule out electrical problems.

Didja clean the filter in the Solex itself? You may have sucked up something out of the tank that got thru your filter. It's under a plug in the carb, just below the fuel inlet.
You gotta clean your screen dude:D

Its not trying to back fire at all i have had the cap off thinking the same thing but i am getting good spark replacing the plugs helped a bit with that..
I checked the points again today and space them to 18 to acompany for wear down the road ( and i couldnt really read the other feeler gauge to see if it was truly 20)..
Cap wires and button are very fairly new po put them on and the dist is only a few years old itself from what i can tell from the pile of receipts i got with the jeep...from what i can tell im getting good spark...Is there a way to kinda water proof the distributor or a spray that may dry or displace the moisture ( if there is any ) ?

Spray the inside of the cap with WD40 and wipe out with clean dry rag. WD means water dispersant.
