So i'm not restoring my Jeep to factory. The frame I have has the front crossmember and most everything stock cut off of it. I am planning to go with a crossover type set up with probably a manual Jeep Saginaw steering box.

I had planned to use all the tie rod and drag link ends from a stock cj5 and make them work. Basically just like this:

One of the reasons I decided to do this is because the axles I got, the front one had been done this way(pics to follow).

You can see the set up that was on the axle I have(the drag link is obviously cut). [IMG]

If you have messed with these rod ends much you know that the taper on the farthest to the left is actually reversed so I'm not sure what the guy before me did there. Maybe re tapered it or maybe just drilled it out(I'm not sure).

Anyways I'm just looking for thoughts on this or maybe ideas I havent thought of or another way to go about this.

    More pics if it helps.

I'm confused here. You say you are restoring to stock but then say you are going Saginaw? Stock was the Ross system not Saginaw.

No, I am NOT going back stock. In order to do that at this point I would have to source a lot of parts.

Goferitoffroad.com has inserts with the correct taper. Just drill to 3/4" and weld them in. I did my tierod flip with them on two axles and they work great. http://goferitoffroad.com/products.htm

Thank you. I did a ton of research yesterday(well as much as I could while working...) and found that I might be able to get a different tie rod end with the hole in it that will work with my situation. If the stock 55 Jeep one didn't have that bend in it it would work for me.
