    Hi all-

I was a flea market and found this really nice 8-page brochure on the Tuxedo Park MkIV. I haven't seen this one before in its entirety, I do have other ads and smaller items in my collection. Thought I'd scan it for all to see. ;-)

My pleasure... I was happy to find this one. I had never seen one like it for sale on eBay or anything like that, so it was a good score for $20. Sometimes digging thru the piles of stinky old brochures at Fall Carlisle is actually worth the time.

Here's the link to my photobucket album, if you want to save the pics you can do it from there: http://photobucket.com/TuxedoPark8

Three things that strike me funny are:
    1. "Sporty front bucket seats- a temptation few people are likely to resist"-in all the tuxedo park lit, they emphasize the bench seat.
    2. "Would you believe it- some competitive 4-wheel drive vehicles still have floor mounted shift levers" - like the competitive non-tuxedo cj5's, or even the tuxedo's that are seen that have a floor shift?
    3. A wrecker option on the optional equipment list for the upscale Tuxedo Park.

On a side note Tuxedo Park is where the first "tuxedo" suit was worn.

Cool. I bought some vintage skis a few years ago with the intention of mounting a vintage rack on top of my Park, inspired by this brochure. All I have to do is find a vintage rack................................and finish the Park.

    Really cool!
The hubcaps on the Jeeps in the brochure are the same ones I have on my DJ-5, just wondering if they would be correct on the DJ as well or if the just made it over to my DJ..

aallison 74 cj6, 76 cj5. Has anyone seen my screwdriver?

I bet the red/red Tux was cool. Would love to see one. And the blue/blue and the green/green would be something to see.

I think the actual tux hubcaps were 2 pieces with a trim ring and a center cap. The covers on your DJ5 are from the early wagoneer, which were very simular.

Those hubcaps are the same ones on my Tuxedo. AFAIK, they are original to the JEEP (this according to the grandson of the original owner). There is a 2 piece design of this style hubcap, as mentioned. I believe one could order the hubcap of their liking, but not sure.

I think the outer ring may have been optional. Mine doesnt have them, but I do have the center part. I have seen a lot of Jeeps this way.

Since we're all in this Tuxedo thing together, I have a few questions and comments to offer...

Hubcaps - It is my belief from experiences known to me that all Tux's had either the full wheel cover (1-pc) or the cap with trim ring (2-pc) wheel covers. My '65 Tux came with no caps when I bought it in 2010.... but my buddy saved a set in 1965 from his friend's then-new '65 Tux when the guy trashed them (literally). He saved in a cardboard box: 5 caps and 4 trim rings. So my question.... when the 2-pc cap/ring hubcap was used, was there a trim ring on the SPARE?? was there even a cap there?? The contents of the cardboard box is consistent with what I have seen on other Tux's... no trim ring on the spare. Anyone know? .... it is my assumption that the spare tire cover was standard on the Tux, so it would make sense that the cap would be completely eliminated from the spare.

Hubcaps again - I just recently saw an ad on CraigsList for "4 NOS Jeep Trim Rings $30" ..... maybe I should stop there ;-) hehe... they were about a mile and a half away in a guy's truck!

Colors - my Tux is Parkway Green, Sylvan Green seats and white factory hardtop.... no indication it ever had a soft top. The fact that they made 2 different color blue tops is awesome. There were 6 color tops available in 1965! So cool. I can think of 3 colors available in the mid 90's, and 2 per year since. I will restore with a soft top, I'm going with the green-green-green color combo if I can find someone to custom make the top/tire cover.

Springs - ok so the springs on these are soft.... this was designed to make them ride "sporty".... I didn't get a chance to drive mine on the road prior to disassembly so I am hoping I like the way this Jeep rides! My springs were trashed when I removed them so I had a custom set of dual-rate springs made for this restoration. Carl Walck arranged the process from a manufacturer he uses. I have them on the rolling frame right now, and I can't wait to see how it looks/rides/etc when it's all back together. Has anyone else found a source for these special springs??

Tires - this is driving me nuts.... I can NOT find a set of snow-tire looking white walls for my restoration! All new tires are black and the snow tires are "ice" treads.... they just don't make a replica Firestone Town & Country. Bummer, since this tire came on EVERYTHING! Any help here?

I'm sure I'll think of more... :) Thanks for sending over any conversation on above topics!

The Nanco All Terrain is very similar to the Firestone Town and Country and Goodyear Suburbanite. On hubcaps, I strongly believe that mine came with the center parts only, with nothing one the spare. My tux was very late, and broke a few of the rules. Its a three speed on the floor, and did not come with a top. It did not have the bench seat. It is white cap with black seats. I don't know about the tire cover, however.

The tires you took off of the Tux dont look that bad!
The red CJ -6 is looking good on your FB page.

Those tires were older than me! Possibly original to the Jeep. I'll check out the Nancos, but I really wanted a white wall for originality.... seems they are not made anymore.

Thanks, that CJ-6 is running well and my buddy is building a custom hardtop for it now. It is almost finished, the owner will be very happy to get it home!
