    Hi everyone,

Well, I made the trip into Pennsylvania to pick up my wifes new toy. The trip was uneventful, and now I'm chomping at the bit to get working on this thing. I'm sure I'll have a few questions for you all while I'm at it. I'd like to upgrade it with power steering and power disc brakes with swinging pedals, so I'm sure I'll need all of your help getting these things figured out. Wish me luck.

Try to get it running and drive it before tearing it all apart. Many people make the mistake of pulling it apart into 100 pieces and then giving up on the project when it gets too big.

:iagree: running and stopping first easier to get in and out of the shop that way

Thanks for all the encouragement and advice guys. This thing is pretty rough. I haven't started work on it yet, but I have spent some time looking closely at it. I've restored several automobiles in the past, and I agree, it would be nice to have this thing running and driving before tearing it apart, but since it hasn't been run in over 25 years, I'm hesitant to start it up now, as all of the rust that I suspect has formed on all the internal engine parts might cause more damage to parts that otherwise might be reusable. The brakes are completely shot also and I don't want to put any time and money into getting them working, when I have no intention of reusing them. The rust is pretty extensive and I'm not sure how much of the body I can salvage. As I poke around on the internet, I'm amazed at how much is available for the Jeeps. I'm trying to keep myself in the mindset that I want to salvage as much as possible, as I can imagine it could get pretty expensive if I just buy everything new. The seats are huge, but they are comfortable, but they are going to go. A roll bar might make them look a little more proportional. I'll keep you all updated as I make progress.
