Renegade 1 Wheel Color

I haven't found any photos or definitive statements about what color the 8 inch steel wheels on the 1970 Renegade 1 would have been. Does anyone know for sure?

Ya, what he said. Eewe. I painted mine black to match the R1 hood stripe.

 

Anyone know what the answer to the question was in the original post. The above links no longer work for me. Looking for the "correct" or close paint info for the white R1 wheels. Thanks.

Thanks. I was actually hoping for a code or the name for te color. Even in the photos the shade of white seems different from one Jeep to the other.

 

The color was probably the same as the stock narrow wheels, and probably changed and varied. I would think the wheels came to the factory alreasdy painted by KH, and all that was specified was white. I've had four sets of these wheels over the years and from what I remember at least some of them were black, even under the KH sticker on the inside of the wheel. My guess is KH made the wheels and had two standard colors available, black and white, and Kasier/AMC did not have a color code for them.

 

1970 factory wheels were Champagne White if that helps.

 

According to a paint site I visited, Champagne white 432 was used from 1969 to 1974. Ditzier PPG 8818 or Acme Rogers 6080 I guess are current codes.

 

I'm still looking for more of the 8" Kelsey Hayes wheels. My original spare is champagne on the front black on the inside.

 

Are you seeking correct color wheels or wheels that you can paint the correct color?
