I installed a JB twin stick kit from Novak yesterday. Pretty straight forward and got rid of the 6 foot of slop in the transfer case linkage. There was actually so much slop I could never get it in 4 high. I hate the boot arrangment I have so that will get changed before it gets monster lined.

I'm ordering the window channel today for my doors and was wondering what yall had used for rubber or weatherstripping between the doors and body? Any pics would be helpful too! I also picked up an extra set of doors last week. They were in great shape with all glass and hardware. I got them for $60! But had to drive an hour and a half one way to pick them up.

So I kind of dropped the ball on this thread, sorry for those watching it! Got the top and doors on and I have been driving it for a few months now. Sure is nice to have the summit heater cranked up in the little half cab on these cold mornings!!
Heres a pic of when we got it all on [IMG][/IMG]

The little amc 199 that is in the jeep has been giving me some issues lately so it is coming out next weekend. I picked up a 1979 258 from a friend who recently replaced it with a 360. It has low miles since rebuilt so I just freshened it up with new gaskets and seal, HEI dizzy, and a new coat of AMC blue. Its been bored .60 over has an aftermarket cam and with the addition of my intake and carb I think itll have some decent power. I also made a nice score at a cj show near atlanta a while back! Picked up a set of new in the package Harland Sharp roller rocker for $45!! Guy didnt know what they were for. So I think a 4.0 head swap is in the future for this motor as well.

Well I didn't get the engine in last weekend. I had purchased one of Novak's adjustable throw out bearings and it wasn't compatable with my clutch fork. I called them Monday AM and they were really helpful and had me the correct bearing by yesterday! So hopefully this bad boy will be in this weekend. [IMG][/IMG]
One thing iv'e learned in this swap is to never trust the previous owners intellegence! So the PO had installed a 1967 AMC 199 in place of the factory 232/258. I discovered this when trying to install a new water pump and relized the pulley was far to deep to go on the new water pump. Now after pulling the motor I stumbled upon the reason I was having so many clutch problems. Looks like whomever installed the motor used a longer bellhousing. Its one inch longer than the one I got with the 258 im installing now. So instead of moving the motor mounts forward, which they couldn't do with the 199 pulley and water pump on the 199, they pushed the trans and transfer case back one inch....
I measured the difference in the bolt holes in the frame for the skid plate and the difference in the bellhousings and it was exactly one inch. My first thought was moving it all back and ordering new driveshafts but then decided everything drivetrain related was functioning fine and I was planing on redoing the clutch linkage anyway with some hyme joints I scored at a swap meet. So I cleaned up the longer bellhousing and slapped some paint on it. A T18 upgrade is in the works so ill correct it all when that happens.
