Does anyone know the size of the 2 bolts holding the starter in on the f-head? My local parts guy can't get them but says there likely in the back if I can get length, and thread size.
    Thanks!

The bolt I need is the smaller Starter bolt (from the list above 1/2-18x1.25)
I've looked high and low and no one in my area has one nor can order one?
Is this the right size? If so Can anyone point me in the right direction to find one?
    Thanks!!

I can't read that .xls document (bolt list) on my computor. But are you sure it isn't 1/2"-13 thread?

Try a standard 1/2" coarse bolt from the hardware store.

    Ooopsies

The list says 1 1/4 x 18 but it should indeed say 13 for the thread- sorry for the confusion.

    I just looked at my 64, the top bolt is a 1/2- 13 x 1 1/2" the bottom is a 1/2-13 x 3 1/2" bolt, nut and lock washer. Hope this helps.

I went out to the garage and took out the top bolt, it is 1/2-13 x 1 1/4" threaded into the bell housing.

I have my old motor, cleaned up and clear coated, on a run-in stand in the garage for Garage Art, it only took me a minute to check it out for you.
