I just picked up a 65 CJ-6. the guy was in the middle if doing a dauntless V6 convention from the original 4 banger. The engine has yet to be mounted between the frame rails and he did not have the frame engine brackets ? Does anyone know where I can buy the correct brackets to propery align athe engine between the frame rails ?? The motor and trans came out of a 66 CJ-5. Thanks. x

would the mounts off of a 70 jeepster with the V6 be the same as what I need ? they look off set to one side ? are they also offset on the cj-5 and 6's ?

I don't know about the jeepster frame. They are offset on the cj5. The above pre made ones are adjustable for your application. I made my own, but the AA and Novak ones look like they are about worth it.

    No on the Commando mounts.
They are offset a bunch for use with the D20 transfer case and the centered rear axle.
Find the factory V6 mounts from a donor CJ5/CJ6 frame as already mentioned above.
ebay or wanted to buy ad here on this forum.(in the proper section)

Either grill will work with the V6, It's tight but will work including the 4-cylinder radiator by changing the bottom outlet.............You'll also have to dent in the drivers side firewall in the corner where the V6 cylinder head hits..........if you look at a 66 or later factory CJ w/ a V6 they notched it and put a flat triangle shaped piece of sheet metal in it's place to add clearance. If your doing Saginaw steering make sure you leave room for that.............as the motor is offset by about 1"

PhotoBucket is down right now...........you only pick 5/8" between the two grill shells.......using a stock steel flat fan and the 4-banger grill still leaves you about an 1" of clearance. In my experience The M-38a / V6 grill shell does give you a little more room up front......but still not enough to use a different shaped fan blade nor enough space to get any electric fan in there between the radiator and motor. The mounting for the radiator between the two is also a little different............every V6 swap seems to be just a little different............no clear-cut here is where it goes....measurements.
Plus or minus a fraction here or there will make the difference. Bolt everything together , hang it in there and move things around until you get the fit you like. Note: The original 4 cylinder battery mount location @ the RF fender also needs to be modified for the V6 clearance.
