Been looking for T98. Found one in Fresno, Ca. It is on a Fastenal truck on its way.

Things are starting to fall into place. I have the T98 adapter to bolt to F134. Traded for the small bore adapter for the D18 With Warn overdrive.

Have a Dana 30 with Detroit locker, updated axles with large ujoints, 4.88 gears and disc brakes.

Found the 70 1/2 - 71 Dana 44 flanged axle rear. Put in 4.88s, Detroit True Trac and disc brakes.

My engine has just over 500 miles on a total rebuild. New pistons, reground cam etc.

Once transmission is here. Will check out condition and go from there. Is it hard to get a small pRtes kit for T98?

how difficult was it to install the twin stick setup? do you need to disassemble the entire case to put the different front output case / shifter mount on?

I already had mine taken down to bare metal... so it was pretty easy.

I'd ordered new bearings from Novak, a new shaft, and a couple of other odds and ends at the same time I ordered the parts for the T98. Then I reassembled... wasn't too bad. Only thing I had to do was shave a little off of the dual shift mount when I mounted it back on the transmission to get it to fit right.

gotcha, so if my case is still compelte, I would need to tear it down completely to be able to install that front bearing retainer / shifter mount?

Not sure, will let others weigh in. There are shift forks internally you have to swap attached to the rods that you have to swap...smells more like you probably are heading in a tear down route.

Yes a complete rebuild will be required when converting a big hole D18 from single stick.
    You will need :
    1) the 2 shift rails,
    2) new shift rod seals,
    3) the shift levers
    4) and the front bearing cap (casting) from a small hole D18.

Received a PM asking If T98 was from a F134. Yes, according to the seller it came from a 1955 CJ5. He didn't have the crossmember. As I was writing this I got a call from Fastenal. Transmission is here. Gotta make a run into town.

Jack, The seller is misinformed because the T98 was not available before the 1956 model year.

You are right, it was not a T98. Back to the drawing board.
