My 1967 CJ5 was bought new by my Grandfather and Dad in 1967. In the late 1970's it got a Small Block Chevy heart transplant. I've had it since 1985 and used it until about 2002 and it's been parked in the back of my storage lot for about 14years. All it was basically needing was a new distributor to get it running again.

I told my guys to pull it into the shop and paint it and get a distributor for it. Now the project has turned into almost a complete rebuild. Had the body ready for paint when my mechanic traded some body repair I did for the labor to rebuild my engine. So out came the engine, then that turned into pulling the body and cleaning up the frame, tranny and T-case. Then I found a used cage on Craigslist for it. So now my little repaint and get the little things done to make it road worthy is turning into a "Big Project"

This is what I'm starting with and a little bit of the progress we've made the last two weeks. I'll post pics of the progress as it progresses.

Made some good progress this weekend... Keeping the engine, and munci 4speed. My prepper pressure washed the frame for me amd I hit the frame with some Chassis Coating since I didn't have any ROT anywhere. I had the body all ready for paint and decided I wanted to spray it inside and out with bed liner. I just bought the bed liner gun and was chomping at the bit to try it. That stuff is pretty amazing it's hard in six seconds after you apply it. I also painted the engine and bell housing and since the block numbers said it's out of a 1959-1961 Corvette I went with Corvette Yellow there. I'm pretty happy with how it's coming along. Next up I'll spray the loose parts then a complete rewire and install a tilt column with power steering. Attached are some before and after photos.

Perma-Coat on the outside TOFF Liner on the inside. My local paint store carries the TOFF LINER in black in stock, and I'm getting colors from Perma-Coat or Qwik Liner. I'm using a cartridge system.

Here's a link to see what I'm using and how it's applied.

I dig the bed liner for the exterior? Any idea how much more weight that adds to the vehicle?

I'd guess about 30-40 Lbs Total inside and out, it really isn't that much.
