    It could’ve come loose from heat and vibration, it wasn’t tightened down enough, or damaged threads.

    First guess, ? Not tight. Second guess, threads worn in spark plug hole. Makes a heck of a noise.

    Didnt check any of them. This is a new to me jeep, so i havent changed them or checked them yet

    Had that sorta happen once on a Ford V6- blew the ceramic right out of the steel part- made a hell of a racket driving it home :D.

    If it was my Jeep I’d go over the vitals with a wrench. Make sure all the tie rods have cotter keys and brakes and steering look tight too.
    I bet that noise scared the crap out of you ? It would have scared me that’s for sure.

    I had a corvan that blew a spark plug and then was firing outside under the engine cover. That was loud.

    I'm assuming to blew the porcelain out of the threaded base, leaving the hexagonal base with the head? I've seen this happen before, but never on an old Jeep.
