I think after my T18 is installed I would like to repaint the inside of my Jeep. I can see factory gold, olive drab, and some black paint currently. My thought is to paint firewall down and all the way back in one color and product to make it look nice. I've used that tractor supply paint as bed liner before and it was tough. All the bed liner products seem a little too modern for a short-hood Jeep but I could be convinced otherwise. So lemme know what you have!

I did body color on the inside walls. Used brush on Rustoleum bed liner on the floors. Been good so far.

I like a smoother textured bedliner for the interior of my tub - but that puts me in the minority opinion here. Without a doubt, if you ever have to remove the bedliner or rework some of the interior metal panels - the bedliner adds a lot of hassle. But, if your tub is completely good to go...I loved it in my cj7. Helped dampen the noise and made things completely easy to deal with on the inside. No carpet, just bedliner - was perfect. I get lots of mud and dirt in my tub and liked how easy it was to clean-up...again, I used a relatively smooth spray in liner, and I did not use it on any portion of the exterior. I also am always throwing tools (jacks, chains etc) and camping junk (often gritty and grimey) into the bed space so I like the durability of it. My current cj5 has too much rust that will need to be addressed to do now, but if I ever get the tub finalized, I would do it again immediately. There is not much paint left on my floorboards or in the back from some of the abuse. I would consider just doing the floor portions and not the inside of the tub walls. It did eventually fade a bit - or picked up a bit of red dirt dust etc which made it look a bit more faded and lighter. Another downside though is that a black interior makes it hard to see and find things at night - I have no additional interior lighting.

With a flat green body I was thinking a tan bedliner product like monstaliner would look good and be easier to keep clean than black would.

as long as you aren't covering some shoddy patches(bondo, wood, fiberglass, etc) liner is a great choice, any void or imperfection that will let water or moisture in will result in accelerated rust due to the impervious liner.

    +1. Nothing extra.

I really like the vintage indoor/outdoor carpet kits. I would buy one today if it was available for the CJ-6.

I painted the same inside as out. Two part single stage poly is tough stuff these days. With paint if you do get rust you know about it & can do something, the though of bedliner & moisture intrusion gives me The Screaming Willies.

This is what I did. Rubber cut from a old pickup truck bed mat. It's a $^&#! to cut but totally bulletproof, after 19 years of hard use my floors still look good.

I was looking at a liner the other day that can be tinted with metallic colors. Can’t remember which one, it I want to do the inside of the tub and inner fenders with empire blue.

After I reconstructed my body I had it sandblasted, and painted the inside with Por 15 with a brush, it flattens out nice and no brush strokes show. Por 15 dries hard as a rock, it is just starting to wear through after 11 years. it is easy to touch up, but only comes in Black I think, My Jeep is Black single stage urethane outside.

Something like a brush-on Rustoleum can be retouched or recoated at any time without hassle.

For me that is preferable to hoping for a bulletproof finish.

The factory painted tubs body color inside and out, including the engine compartment. I prefer seeing Jeeps redone like original, but thats just me. Paint inside the bed and floors should be fine.

My tub and floors are solid and rust free (I traveled some way to some expense to bring this back to MD!) so not worried about promoting any sort of rust under the monstaliner or whatever other thick liner. POR15 I've used before and that could be ok for this application I guess. Hammerite is crazy tough but again just like the POR its not very thick. Something makes me think the thicker stuff will serve better on the floor but not sure.

That really has nothing to do with it- if moisture gets in the it will rust, fresh metal is no guarantee that the liner will prevent water getting in.

Absolutely agree. What I meant was I am not trying to cover up any sort of floor or bed patches. The more I reread this thread it seems like paint is the way to go. Perhaps a semi-gloss dark gray or tan so dirt doesn't show as much as black. I hope to finally get her on the trail in 2019 (lets not laugh! let me hope!) so an interior that doesn't look caked in mud every time I get in would be nice.
