Could someone shed some "Light" on my confusion here..?
This CJ is a "registered" 1948 model jeep.
I was told it has a CJ5 frame but all the running gear is of the 48'... except the rearend which is a D44 model.
The front grill I "think" may be of the CJ5 type..?
I purchased a set of headlight trim rings to fit a CJ2...they are too small in diameter.
The units I have measure about 9-inch flange to flange.
It has a tab at the top with a single mounting hole at the bottom to retain it.
Do I then have a CJ5 headlight assembly..? ( The rear section of each has been cut away for the access of the wiring.
    Are the CJ-5-6-7 same or..?
Don't have a "year" for the CJ5 information as he has passed away...that is why my project needs to run again.
Any information would be greatly appreciated..!

    Thanks,
    George

If your Jeep is what you have in your signature, it is not a CJ5 grill. You have a flat fender model, with a flat fender grill. Some on the forum can give you better details on specifically what body you have. My best guess is you have a CJ2a, but there are variations of even this model.
Without closeup photos, we can't guess what headlight buckets you may have.

My Avatar is all I have at this time.... I will try again to upload a better picture of this.
I believe you are correct... as everything so far I have had to deal with...points to a CJ2A.
Hood & fenders are of a fiberglass version though.
    Thanks..!
