This may be a dumb question but I’m young so whatever. What’s the recommended amount of wheel backspacing? I am getting ready to buy new wagon wheels because one of them is bent pretty bad and I have no clue where they came from. I am running 31x10.50r15s(33x10.50r15s in the future) on stock width axles and as it sits the tires stick out about 3 inches in the front(factory jeep camber) and about an inch and a half in the rear. I would like the tires to sit at about the same that they are now or even a little further tucked in.

(I am looking at 15x7 wheels btw)

Typically, the backspace is in the 3 1/2" to 4"range. Any more than that, you start rubbing the rear inner fenderwell before full stuff, and the front starts rubbing the leaf spring before full lock.

I am kinda dumb with this but more backspacing equals the tire being more tucked in right?

Yes. Backspace is measured from the outer lip of the rim to the wheel mounting surface. Lay a straight edge across the back of the rim, and measure down to the wheel mounting surface.

I used to be a young guy when I joined this board.

Luckily as I've become less young, the rest of the guys here have just gotten even older. :D
