Hat Channel

    Doug - just bend shorter sections of metal to fit inside similar to what your doing for the hat channel. It would just be a hat channel inside the other. You could put some cut off black pipe as spacers for crush support in addition to using them where the bolts go through.

    I think those are good repairs. Didn't have to take off the body.
    Looks great, years and years of trouble free driving. Those hat channel pieces you made look great. Good job.

    As for replacement for the wood, I had thought of the engineered lumber at Lowe's. It won't rot. I may make some spacers out of round tube with washers welded on for the bots to go through also.

    Just need time to work on my projects.

    Update- I took the Jeep to my buddy Dave's place...he's a retired body man and builds street rods, he's my go to guy for any sheet metal work. He welded my reinforcements on there real nice.

    By cutting the body mount off the frame it made the welding job much easier. Now I just have to bolt it back on and reinstall the mount.
