Ok guys, my research goes on. Is any body aware of any serious issues in using a GM 1988 or later 9.25, 33 spline axle. My main concerns are obviously steering, drive lines and shocks?? I have now been researching the Eaton E-lockers and I really like what I see. I think the OX's are going back to the store. The E-locker has a much broader application base and I have always been leery of the cables use for the OX, i.e.: binding issues. Any thoughts or experience is welcome.

Nope, I believe the company has been bought and sold once or twice as they have changed names. It’s now OX brand but they are still available. I have two at home in the box and they really are an impressive product but the whole cable thing just bothers me. Seems like they would be really quirky, not something I want to crawl under and mess with in an inconvenient or maybe even dangerous situations.

    Gotcha..found them at
    http://www.oxbrand.com/

Sure seems silly they didn't buy and redirect the former URL...just about every writeup posted on the web has that one yet.

    isn't the 9.25" a metric 10 bolt?

Aren't 10bolts closer to 8.25-8.5" ring gear? I really don't know. If its a front it would have to be 44, 60, or 10 bolt. 33 spline though?

If its a chevy 10 bolt frontend, then it would be just like a dana 44 with the exception of the center section. Knuckles, spindles, hubs etc... are the same.

Wait a minute, 88 and later is going to be IFS. Why would you want to use that?

Eaton E lockers seem to be the way to go. No air lines or system to mess with. They've been making e-lockers for a long time for BIG trucks. I think the only problem is going to be getting them as they are also selling to OEM car manufacturers. I can't wait to get one for the front of the heep!

Yikes... my bad. yes I meant an 8.5 or better known as a ten bolt. Sorry for the bad info, I have been doing so much research lately I am having nightmares about tapered axles and smear patterns.. I think if I bought the rights to the flanged off-set 44 and started producing them I might make some money, or at least a lot of freinds. Thanks GhettoFab, you were right on the mark, I am always looking for second and third sources to verify my thirst for jeep knowledge.

I have an OX locker for my front Dana 44 that isn't installed yet. I talked to Eric at Six States in Salt Lake City and he said that they haven't had one complaint about the cable or any of the OX lockers they have installed. He did say they had a little bit of a problem getting the cable adjusted on a Grand Cherokee but that after they got it dialed in, it was money.
