I purchased my 64' CJ5 about a month ago. Surprise! The kids (10 and 6) absolutely fell in love with it. Unfortunately, it doesn't have a backseat. I would love to find a OEM rear seat, but would go aftermarket.

Also..Any pictures of a stock 64' seat is much appreciated.

Note: I've been searching Ebay, Craigslist..etc. No luck.

I'm not even sure what years will fit.

Any and all advice is much appreciated.

    John

Welcome from Michigan. Nice looking Jeep, you will have fun with that. My Jeep has fender pads to set on, no back seat. It works out OK for riding on the fire roads and forest viewing, I do not let them ride on them while on the road though. Good Luck with your new Toy, you and the kids are going to have fun with it.

The AMC era and later seats can be made to fit. Nice looking Jeep! I see some different shift levers. What do you have for transmission/transfer case?

01515_6HacVhbBQsS_600x450.jpg Would this rear seat fit? Sounds like it's from a 77 CJ. Ideas?

I used a seat from a jeep of unknown vintage and it fit fine. The tough part is how do you want to mount it. Do a search of OEM rear seat support brackets. This is how most old jeeps rear seat was installed so it could be removed. Here is a pic of the old rear seat I used. It fit just perfect between the fender wells. I had it reupholstered. This how they look now.

Amazing Jeep! It's so CLEAN! Thanks for the info. I think I'm going to fab up all the mounting brackets. It's great to have access to a waterjet and CNC machines :)

Judging by the picture, I'd guess something like a T10 or Muncie car 4 speed.

I went new, using Bestop Trailmaxx II low back seats. I wasn’t able to find original.

Craigslist to the rescue. Picked it up today. Now I need to get it mounted and get seat-belts. Unfortunately, I had to buy the set of seats. Anyone in Seattle area need a couple front seats :)

    Back to Craigslist they go!!!
