If you ordered one to fit a jeep, it comes with the ring for the original airhorn to clamp to.

OEM type is a better air filter than your aftermarket one. I highly recommend finding/installing an OEM one.

I used the original air horn. Clamps right to it.

More problematic may be the rubber hose to the airhorn. The reproductions are junk, as has been discussed here in the past.

Air cleaner didn't come with jeep.
Going to try to lift the ring off carb.

I did have issues with a hose to my oil bath. I went and got a cheapy cone (from flaps) that sealed well on the end of the horn. Looked funny but worked flawlessly. This also cleaned up the engine bay a little.

Good news. Carb on, cranked it with no cables (got fab work to do, cable conversion).
Set fuel enrichment lever to max, turned idle screw in 1 turn, hit the key,
Didn't turn over 1 second till it ran, bout 2k rpm. Slowly pushed enrichment lever
To stop, it idled bout 1k. Set idle. 700rpm, air screw in till stall, then out high idle.
Ran smooth, no hunting, reved well after 2-3 min.
Only air filter I had. To use is a old cone off a motorcycle.
If I order the horn and hose, can I fab my 6in K-N to end of it?

Can you oil your K-N filter with the kit?

Looks better than mine now, a street bike carb cone, hood just touches it when closed.

Before I installed my oil bath, I ran a cheapie auto parts store air filter fitted onto the factory air-horn with a boot and clamped right on top of my Solex. Worked great. Note there is a gasket between the air horn and the carb (y)

Ended up ordering the 90deg snorkel, used flex defrost hose,to passenger
Fender top, with a Howe store corner brace, attached to old breather wing nut.
Found some exhaust tube to attach hose to breather bottom.
Looks similar to what the ricers do. It works, it's up high as can be
K-N filter, with panty hose sock, pre filter.

Would someone be kind enough to measure the outside diameter of the air horn where the hose clamps? I'm wondering if I can replace what I'm using with an original style air horn.

I used a Solex for a while. It hooked right up to the original air horn. The problem was the pump was putting out too much pressure for the carb. I installed a pressure regulator before the carb and problem solved.
Sent the original carb to Scout Pilot and am running it now. Most of the time original is best.
