Can anyone tell me if you can just put power brake unit in 1974 Renagade without mods, doing frame off resto and would like to just put power brake booster, I know some vehicles need a pedal bracket and pedal swap!

IIRC the cores for the original booster are made of unobtainium. And the bracketry is different. I think you are better off adapting a universal booster from Jegs or Summit, or some have used a later CJ booster and pieces somehow. The pedals are different, pre and post '76.

Did you search? site:earlycj5.com intermediate jeep power brake conversion - Bing

Maybe nothing stepwise there, but lots of posts.

I have a hydroboost from an Astro Van that will go in my CJ-6, someday.

The 74s seem to get the short end of the stick, they certainly are harder to find parts for.

    Thank you

NP. All the intermediates have this problem. Too few years and too different. And too much effort for the aftermarket sellers to figure out what will fit and what won't.

Looks right. I don't know if that arrangement appears on any other Jeeps though. Maybe on a '72-73 Commando.

To the OP - let me know if you are interested in the CL add posting and I might be able to help you out....As Tim mentioned, it might be easier to go with an aftermarket set-up as you are not local...just giving you options if it helps.

Did put a cj7 booster on my 75". Had to drill 4 hole the the bolts....little modification to pedal. Work great for 10 years.

I've been using MBM Brake kits for retrofitting different older vehicles with success. They aren't race car quality, but seem fine for street driven vehicles, and they are reasonably priced. You can't buy direct from MBM with being a dealer, but there are a couple of dealers on eBay if you pull the number from their website and enter it into the eBay search.
