2wd and divorced tcase 4x4 use the same trans, only difference is lack of a provision for speedo cable on 4x4 version.

If you're patient, a cheap FSJ T-18 for a Dana 20 might show up on Marketplace or Craigslist and you can mix and match the front/back to get what you need.

The 4x4 divorced version of the NP435 also has a provision for bolting the remote T-case shifter to the side of it that the 2wd trans does not have.

Last night, I put the gas tank, driver's seat and some of the broken glass back in the top. I also do not think the jeep is a '66 Like I was told. I think it might be a '67 or a '68.

Some pictures from the other night when I last worked on it. It is starting to look like a jeep again!

I see it has the optional floor air conditioning system. ;-)

Are you going to save the stock seats? The passenger side doesn't look to bad.

My plan is to put the Jeep together again, Make it run/drive/stop and put my tracks on it for winter use. Hence the name snowshoe. And if I like it, I’ll keep it and fix it more and more or sell it or trade for another Jeep.

Tracks?????? I'm suddenly super intrigued..... Can't wait to see how this works out. I've always lusted after a Thiokol snowcat, but living in Virginia now, isn't really conducive to needing one.

Finally had some time to pull parts off some heaps. I took the manual Saginaw steering from the mail jeep I had gotten a while back. I like the way it stiffened up the front frame horns.

I had a destroyed intermediate CJ5 frame with a rancho 2.5” lift. I had all new bushings and shackles left over from Ted’s suspension upgrade. I also had Ted’s new/old u bolts too from when I swapped axles yearS ago.

The mail jeep also had WORKING 10” brakes. I pulled all the wheel cylinders, drums and shoes. I also took the really nice bolt on dual master cylinder mount. Did I mention I’m trying to build this jeep on the cheap with stuff I have on hand? :D

Got the dual master cylinder in and replaced all the wheel cylinders. Next is brake plumbing.

I almost have the brake plumbing done. I’m waiting on the new hoses to come in. I used all nickel copper alloy tubing.

My new Eastwood flaring tool made double flares so much easier! The very soft 3/16” tubing was a breeze!

I took this proportioning valve off the DJ5 and I don’t know where this plug goes? The wire for it was in the harness with the brake light switches.

Yesterday when I was doing the rear brakes, I noticed both hubs were spinning. I popped the diff cover off today and behold! I’m thinking it’s a power lock? I also hoping to find it had 4.88s, but sadly the diff tags didn’t lie about the 3.73s. :(

That's to operate the brake warning light. If one of the brake circuits fails, the pressure difference moves an internal piston to trigger that switch. Post failure, you need to recenter the piston via bleeding to get the light to go off:

Thanks! Maybe I’ll have to wire it to a light on the dash then.
