I need to replace the bottom section of my tailgate and I cannot find it anywhere. I saw it once on ebay but now it is gone. Does anyone knows where to get it? Thanks!

Mine is in ok shape other than the bottom. A hundred dollars makes a difference, at least for me.

There is a guy on the cj2a page that is selling that tailgate replacement section. I purchased one about 8 years ago. Great fit, very nice part.
Not sure of his name. Search Tailgate Repair Section

I contacted the guy with the eBay listing back on December 7th regarding availability of the repair section. He sold out of his last pieces about 6 weeks ago. He said he "hasn't make up his mind if he will make any more" He might think about making more if there's enough interest this Spring, and if Covid goes away.
I need at least 1, maybe 2. Maybe we should see what the interest is to "pre-sell" or group-buy enough to convince him to make another batch. This guy had two different lengths of repair sections. His repair sections were very well formed to replicate the shape of the lower edge of the tailgate.

Mine had a bent place where the PO had backed into a pole.
Welded in a piece of black pipe of the same diameter. Can't tell it once it was ground and finished.

You could form some 18 ga. around some pipe and see if you can make it yourself. Have played with for forming the steel over a piece of pipe but it takes a lot of trial and error to get it right.

Mike Gamby - he's been making these a long time.

Full length of the tail gate or the center between the two bar stock hinges is the difference.

He did not make them for trucks only the CJ's and they are spot on.

I know him so asked him how many it would take to make it worth his while to do another run. So reply in this thread if you are interested.

Thats who I contacted a few weeks back, now hoping we can get him to produce another batch. His eBay name is mike208jeepin, but for now, he has sold out.
I'd be in for at least a long and a short repair section.

I talked to the guy at Classic Enterprises (awesome guy by the way) and he hopes to be making tailgates next year. Not entirely germane to the conversation, I know.
