    X2!
When my wife and I purchased our first home, the entire house had carpet, including both bathrooms. First stuff to go, and man was it nasty! Carpet in master bathroom was red, but burgundy/purple around the commode! Some of the worst stuff I have had to demo. Never understood carpet in bathrooms.

I got the floor mostly completed this morning. I stopped at the front edge of the house, and we’re going to order new grey carpet for the cab. I’ll make a transition strip for where they meet.

    Step corner needs some stair-cap.

I don’t have enough flooring left (without opening a new box) to cover the utilities, so I’ll make it out of something else before I make the new toilet permanent.

After I got that finished, I took a trip to pull and save. I wasted a lot of time there just wandering around, and they had nothing I went for. I was looking for seats from a Honda Odyssey to match the fronts, and some swivel bases from one of the 10+ RVs they usually have in the back of the lot. All three of the Odysseys were missing the seats, and all the RVs were gone.

I drove further north to the other lot, and jackpot! That one had the seats, and it had a disgusting RV that had the swivel bases I was after. $60 for everything.
    :bananatool:

    Mmmmmm.... meth.

Here are some other notables from the trip.

A York compressor just sitting on the front floor of the RV... I probably should’ve grabbed that.

A granny gear Ford NP435 just waiting for a new home...

A ‘74 IH Camper Special that still had the auto, NP205, and D44/D60 rears with 4.09s and Selecto hubs....

A ‘74(?) mail jeep and another IH...
I think they were for sale as running rigs.

    That's good stuff. I'd be tempted to drag home an entire vehicle. I'll avert my eyes. :drool;
Oh, and I suppose the floor looks good too.

Well, as it turns out, project creep happens in RVs too.

So my original plan was to mount the seats on swivels, on top of the existing platforms. I knew that plan was out the window as soon as I put the seats on the platforms without a base, and they were already so tall my feet didn’t touch the floor. I needed a new plan.

Plan B was to remove the platforms altogether, and shrink the outside storage compartments to allow the seats to be mounted on the floor.

This box needed to come out and get reshaped. The generator wiring goes through this, so that added some fun.

I got it up on the bench and cut a chunk out of it.

I forced it back into place and moved the breaker box.

A new floor piece was glued, screwed, and tattoo’d in.

I must not have taken any pics of the other box, but I made that one out of plywood, and the generator wiring needed 6’ of length added to it in order to relocate it in the new box. The edges will get finished with stair cap.

Now the seats will have plenty of room, and the kids will have end tables to pile junk on.

Odd to see storage compartments boxed in using sheet metal - unless they held the hot water tank or generator. Did there use to be something else in those?

Not to my knowledge. My guess would be because it’s the only storage compartment that is below the level of the cabin. To protect it against road trash maybe? Every other compartment that goes below the cabin (utilities) is also sheet metal. The forward box was a byproduct of the aluminum framework for the bench seat; otherwise it probably would have been wood, like the ones in the back.

As far as a table goes, you will be camping and hopefully you will do things out side. Breakfast maybe one of the meals you eat inside. Do the drivers and passenger seat swivel around? Make a removable, easy to storied table for them.

The passenger's seat does spin (it’s not easy) and the driver’s seat can’t, due to the steering wheel.

I’m going to put a table between these seats that folds down flat against the wall on drop-leaf brackets. The kids can eat there. My wife and I still have the couch that is next to these chairs, and we’re good lap-eaters.

Our TT is a 27 footer, has a love seat couch and both sides recline. There is no table. I wish we had a table but the couch is nice after a long day outside. If we would have got a TT with a table and couch we would have had to get a 30 footer. We did not want something that big.

As they say with campers. Make a list of 10 things you want in it and hopefully you will get 5 or 6

    Nothing very exciting...

I finished the seat mounts this morning...

The swivel bases needed all the old carpet glue removed, seat belt mounts welded on, and fresh coat of paint.

The seats I picked up were disgusting. I kept the receipt just in case they wouldn’t clean up. The panel on the right was my test panel, as it had a big smear of grease across it. I used a scotchbrite pad with Ivory dish soap.

I can’t believe how well they cleaned up! Great deal for $29 for the pair!

I should be able to get them mounted in place tomorrow.
