Everything is coming out and getting inspected. Everything needs at the very least a reseal.

First panel of the project is stripped, primed and painted. Tub is removed and frame is pushed into the garage for further disassembly.

Yep. The rear bearing cap (or whole T case) was swapped out for the Wagon version without the brake/companion flange and hence, about 1" shorter.

I worked overtime so only got one day off, but got one of the fenders done. I will not be smoothing these body panels out, she'll be painted but will show her scars from a nearly history spanning 74 years.

Rolled the frame out today and pressure washed everything, the knuckles had a solid 1 inch of grime/grease built up that I had to mechanically scrape down before blasting with the pressure washer. I'll roll forward with the tear down later this week, I'll have to stop by HF and pickup an engine stand as well for the flathead.

I placed my first large order for it today as well though Kaiser Willys which included reseal kits for the engine, trans and t-case.

Now starts the long process of busting corrosion off with my needle scaler and wire brush and getting everything torn down for at least a reseal.

Didn't have time to do much this weekend due to other commitments but did get the Tcase and trans out. I also removed the whole exhaust system as it's mostly rusted out and patched together. Previous owners did put a brand new muffler in then proceded to smash the inlet and outlets with clamps :( Not sure if I'll be able to save it or not.

Engine out and on the stand. Wanted to get more done today but other things took my focus away, hope to have the axles out from under it on my next day off then it's a matter of fixing what needs fixing, busting rust, painting, then going back the other way.

Where are you hosting them? Same here. I'm blocking trackers from Facebook and Twitter - possibly related to that.

    Tried that, no change.

Facebook, after the crash the other day my albums are all jumbled up so most likely related to that and a change in image locations.

Here's a link to the public album.

Started pulling down the engine to find this today. Most of the cylinders actually look decent except for the #4 which has a good bit of scoring. It still has standard pistons in place and the bores just barely have a lip at the top. I don't know if the block is savable with that crack between the 2/3 cylinders. I'm going to drop it off at the Machine shop Monday morning and see what they say.

The newer posts work for me now. The older posts used to have pictures, but they are gone.

Remarkable how undersquare this engine is.

Bummer about the crack. I just had hardened valve seats put in my L head block. The machine shop thought they saw a crack between #4 exhaust and the water jacket. I made a plate with melamine to take the part of the head with inspection holes for the valves and cylinders. Water pump also. Snugged the plates down with gaskets then filled the block with water and pressurized it. Luckily no cracks. Your cracks being just in the water jacket the block may be usable.
