I think a tub replacement would be overkill, if it were me building this thing. Your existing tub is in pretty decent shape, as far as I'm concerned.

Oh yes Faulken, I believe I can make my tub work, and yes Twinny;) parts are readily available unless they're off the coast of California on a ship! lol

I felt I didn't get much done, my brother came over for a few hours; guess he was bored. Then I finished Rotisserating the Bronco; still need to do some re-enforcement for structural integrity. Oh, I filled the engine crankcase and primed it. Just waiting on a radiator drain~ so perhaps tomorrow I'll fire it up? more positive~ I'll fire it up;)

When I worked at Tom's, we did a lot of dismantling. It may be possible he has a used tub lying around. It may be cheaper and less effort to to go that route instead of repairing the old one or purchasing a new one in pieces.
Someone like Jeff's bronco graveyard may have one as well.

We got a frog strangler here this morning! omg, so I sat down here and made a list of a higher percentage of parts that I need for the bronco tub. and hope I can salvage the windshield frame which is spot welded on; it alone is 4-500.
1150.oo (no tax or shipping) (give or take a few hundred) my labor is cheap. That's also repairing/fabricating sheet metal with left over sheet metal and metal that I already have. Not including sandblasting.

don't know how old this is, but it's still a lot of work.
Early Bronco Tub for sale: photos, technical specifications, description

My doors: I May just go ahead and disassemble them today, funny, door skins cost almost as much as a complete shell(less hardware). I do need working doors for alignment purposes, so I guess I can at least gut them and see what they're going to require.
Tailgate: mine is bashed in by about 2"'s, but it may be repairable.

plus keep an eye out for used parts.

    Couple of things....
4° bushings are usually for 2" lifts. 3" plus should use either 6° or 7°. Looks like yours is a 4" (got off my *** and scrolled back in your posts) but not sure (you could pull the numbers off the rear springs and contact James Duff) if it has any adverse driving habits, you may have to swap them out.
That odd three hole mount in the dash is for the stock AM radio. They make a blue tooth replacement for that.

Now is a good time to think about any upgrades.
Disc brakes require a dent in the inner fender.
Floor shifters and NP435 swaps need a hole cut on the tunnel cover. Installation is also much easier with the body off. Yours has a floor shift, so anything other than that will require closing the hole.
Be very careful mounting anything under the dash!! The main wiring loom lays on the bottom lip. If I had a dime for every "my wipers/brake lights/turn signals won't work" just to find a drill or screw had been run through the loom mounting a CB, I could buy a case of beer.

Again, I'm late to the party so I may be going over things already covered.

    Is that a TR6?

Got to play with the doors, and only one black widow spider! Darn they are a scary spider, but it didn't like Brake Kleen very much! But then the heeby jeebies set in thinking something is crawling on you! eek!

    onward ho~
Drivers door: I know/knew it was the worst as it was weak on the hinges, or being able to lift the door up and down too much.

    Passenger: I believe I can save the passenger door by replacing the lower part of the door skin; at least that will save a little money, however a door skin below somewhere;

A door skin is 135.oo, but have read they don't line up very well so I've read.

Most the guts are there on both doors, but the drivers is meh.

    The fella I bought the Bronco from had a couple Bronco doors, but after handing him what I paid, I wanted to wait a bit before biting the bullet on more used doors, but I guess I can give him a hoot and see what he has;

NOTE: I got the engine running on the stand this afternoon! :bananatool: First start up, had the distributor 180 off and POW! Then got that corrected and took a little bit, but got it up to operating temp, adjust timing, idle, mixture, darned thing sounds great, ran for about 20 minutes! Then I let it cool down, I plan to put the engine on the Bronco frame tomorrow(however the new motor supports haven't showed up yet:(, then put the other 302 on the stand and just store it until I get around to it, however, if I could sell it, might give me a little money for parts which would be nice.

It's ok to be late;) yes, let's see what happens with the bushings, I know pretty much how to get them out, and everything is clean; that helps! I''ve already purchased a C4 transmission and think I would like the shifter column for it, and I'd close the hole up I suppose.

Not much going on other than loaded the Tub, doors, tailgate. though the doors are horrible, I'm going to see what I can do with them~ test my skills vs just buy things new;) I hope the blasters are going to be ready. I'm just having the parts blasted, no coating as I'm going to epoxy just what needs to be epoxied. Then when ready I can begin cutting out the bad, seeing what I'm going to order.
    happy Halloween!

I went to the OSU shellacking of Kansas Saturday, before the game they were having an OSU themed car show. I saw this Bronco and thought of you Dne! It was for sale at $75k.

I say shellacking because OSU won 55-3. No this ain't Oregon state or Ohio State. This is Garth Brooks country.

I got the parts back yesterday, I'm gonna need a lot of new body parts!

I asked the fella where the blasting is done, that does the rotisserie help~ and he exclaimed "oh yeah!", He said he'd have to charge a lot extra without one. The blasters really appreciate it.

not shown are the doors and tailgate~ I'll post pics of those later. I would wonder if the lower panel is glued in, or spot welded. I'll find out I guess. Once the lower panels out ,then I can remove the fender wells.

Got busy removing the bed floor, not so bad! But it was about ready to fall out anyway!
note I have the tub suspended by the rails of the bed and pretty much hanging by my maxjax.

I've certainly seen worse before. A Scout of this vintage, subjected to whatever conditions this bronco got, would be complete swiss cheese, in my experience. But yeah, you've got a fair bit of work to do there.

Hi Guys, sorry I've been away, been kind of sick for the past couple weeks, no not covid, just allergies?:shrug: both Gary and I have been coughing snorting, finally coming out of it except for an irritating cough.

Anyway, kind of got back on the bronco body, I went ahead and separated the cab from the bed as the door striker posts are toast, actually the entire thing is toast! lol

Here I've removed the inner fenders, new ones on the way
    [IMG]

Before separation of the cab from the bed. I new kick panel will be here next week.

Test fitting of the new lower panels with the higher arches. I'm very pleased with these!!

Drivers side. I believe I'll be using a expoxy "glue" when re-assembly comes about vs spot welding.

ran out and took these pics: I hope I've placed my last steel order, the parts aren't bad, but shipping is pretty hefty:(
    [IMG]

Can't wait to get back on the Bronco, the body should be going back together pretty quickly when ALL the parts are here.
I have the old doors still, they're shell now and should provide getting the door openings correct~ at sometime I'll be setting all this on the frame to get things square.
    dne' ;)
