This is the original bell crank setup on my '71, picture from 2017:

This is with it upgraded to saginaw steering box and a "Goferit" tie rod flip, using the original double tie rod end to bring the rods together.

At some point I added this brace to the Saginaw steering box because those boxes are very strong and can be a bit "torquey" on the frame horns.

This is my recent upgrade to a 2-hole knuckle on the passenger side, still with using the tie rod flip.

The tie rod flip moves the tie rod to the top of the steering knuckles, creating more clearance from the leaf springs and ground obstacles. The one piece tie rod just makes a stronger connection between the knuckles than the original separate tie rods coming from the bell crank. The Saginaw conversion brings the steering from 1920's technology to 1960's technology.

The Saginaw steering conversion is one of the best upgrades you can do to an old Jeep, IMO.

That’s kind of what I want to do but I’ll have to do it as affordable if ya know what I mean. Looks like you did a good job on it

    Yes.
A number of manufactures used to offer the kit for both the Ross and the Saggy conversion. Not sure what is available now so you may have to adjust the drag link length. Someone with more recent experience will surely chime in.l
The issue is the tie rod angle as it pertains to the bellcrank. The bellcrank is designed to move horizontally. It doesn't do well with vertical forces, which will flex the frame at the mounting point as well as accelerate wear on the pivot pin. The suggestion to flip the tie rods in conjunction with the one piece conversion may be the cheapest answer to the issue.
I suggest you think about a manual/power Saginaw conversion sometime in the future.

Unfortunately, Jeeps make every modification look easy. Just add, bolt, install "this" and magic happens.
    Sage advice.
Might think about the brakes as well........
