Nope, that is the same t98 I have. Has an adapter on it to a GM bellhousing. This one came out of a gladiator with a tornado OHC 6 that was swapped out to a small block.

Easiest way to determine original application is via stickout length including the adapter plate thickness of the main drive gear and also it’s diameter.
Most likely from a early 1960’s gladiator truck.
    It’s been mated to a small hole D18 @ 3-5/32” index bore.
Definitely Jeep not Ford nor IH as evidenced by the transmission bolt pattern.
Besides Ford will have PTO port on the opposite side.

Needs the correct main drive gear and special front bearing retainer. Already has the front adapter plate.
You just can’t hardly get there from anywhere without having the original 1955-1971 T98-A CJ-5/6 parts. Unless you can custom machine what’s missing.
Otherwise this ones as close as it gets.
This one was set up to bolt to a typical GM engine albeit kinda long on the front adapter. T18’s if set up correct can eliminate the front adapter plate to GM.

With the adapter, it will be too long in a 5, will work awesome in a 6 or a commando. Mine is going in the commando when I start working on it.

The embossed numbers found on castings only identifies the blank itself,; the unmachined casting part number.
Various Examples would be: Ford transmission case castings vs Jeep castings vs IH castings will begin with different blanks. However the shift tower casting could be started from the same blanks.
And yes there certainly are different T98/18 shift tower blanks that were cast.
Casting blanks in general may often be machined in various ways producing parts having different part numbers.
Stampings and/or tags, both metal and paper are then used to identify various assemblies and finished parts .
