it still looks awful but it’s lots cleaner.

The floor is in decent shape. Not great but it’s ok for now.

The bed is going to be an issue.

This isn’t any type of restoration and I don’t plan on keeping it so I’m going to patch it up enough to keep the seats in.

An old washing machine would be useful right about now.

I called the local steel store a sheet of 16ga is around $150. I would guess the bed is 2/3 of a sheet so I’m going to splurge and replace the whole bed with new steel.

Couple days in NOLA. Saw the play “Hamilton” - Pretty good. Went to the Van Gogh exhibit - Pretty good.

Got home in time for a couple hours in the garage. Jeep sat for the past 20 years so of course the drums fought back.

    Lots of parts needed.

Can read the tag from the back side looks like 4.89 gears?

I’m not going to get stuff clean enough to paint but this clean will make going together lots easier.

We did get the endplay on the rear axles close enough. I’m going to get the new brake lines started next.

Rebuilt the carb. I know it pretty well as I had to take it apart a couple times.

Who ever thought this was a good idea?

I guess changing the MC was necessary.

D27 v6 10" brakes are self adjusting...no need to adjust them other than go and brake in reverse every once in a while.

Mine, of course, have no self adjusting hardware. It’s cheap enough so it’s on the list.

I know, that's what my in-laws jeep has.:D It's worlds nicer than the older eccentric adjusters. With disks you don't need to mess with brake lines when working on the axles. Just pull the calipers out of the way and you can drop the assembly out if needed.

Stocking up on 1/4, 5/16 & 3/8 nuts and bolts. I sometimes have a hard time putting 55yo fasteners back in.

looking for something for hat channel support for the bed. I found a standard T-post was a little too big so I found this mini post at Lowes. It’s going to be perfect!! For $8 I love it!

Took me most of the day but brake lines are done.

Bonus I found the axle shims in my brake parts bin. (I made a shim out of a grease seal when setting it up)

I only did this two or three times. :banghead: Not bad for about the 20 flairs I needed.

I’m feeling pretty good about the job. I’m hoping for a minimum amount of leakage.
