Hey all I figured you guys might get a kick out of this.. I told my buddy he could have this old 62 CJ5 that has been sitting in the woods for years if he wanted it. He decided to try and get it running--and did!

He made a YouTube video about all of it, I think it's pretty cool!

It was fun to watch. I have revived a few myself and it is thrilling to hear that engine fire up after sitting so many years. I am surprised the transmission would work at all on this one after being full of water for who knows how long, but they are pretty tough. I am also surprised at how good the engine was running without a cloud of smoke pouring out the pipe.

My 67 CJ5 had sat in a barn since 79 and it took me longer than four days to get it mobile again, but I absolutely love that feeling when it first moves under its own power.

Our '67 sat since '85. First start up is thrilling.
