    Good morning everyone!
With my 2 hole knuckle conversion and intermediate Saginaw manual steering, I’m having a tough time finding tie rods.
Partsdude 4x4 will be back next week, so I’ll call him before making a decision. So for DOM tubing, it’s all over the internet but nowhere near my county!
I found at onlinemetals.com 7/8 od and 16/25 id. Is that too large for an 11/16 tap?
They also have a 1” od 5/8 id. i was hoping to keep it at 7/8 but if that id is too big for the tap then I will have to go 1”
My rough eye to eye measurements are 41” for the tie rod and 23.5” for the drag link.
What do you experienced people think?
    I value your opinions!

    Thanks!

I don’t have an answer for your specific question, but you may want to check out WFO Concepts for DOM pricing. They’re a local CA company, so you may save on shipping too.

I’ve bought quite a bit of jeep stuff from them over the years, and their prices have been good and they’ve always shipped quickly.

1" od dom with .188 wall is used for the stock 11/16-18 tie rod ends. I pass a 5/8 bit through it to clean it up I find sometimes it's just a little tight for the tap before. I use locknuts on factory tie rods.

Lock nuts as in a jam nut instead of clamps or on top to hold the TRE to the knuckle?
    Thanks for the info!

R/l 11/16-18 jam nuts I should have said as you will no longer have the clamps on the tie rod.

Got it, I was actually going to work that question in here as well, now I don’t have to.
    Thanks Rich!

1” .188wall with.065 inside diameter Dom tubing is near unobtainable at the moment. I ordered 10’ length a couple months ago and am still waiting for it.

If the shipping wouldn’t be a deal killer I would have you get me a piece. My local steel supplier is a little slow sometimes.

I used the same stuff. Ruff-Stuff weld-in ends for 7/8-18 TRE's and lock nuts. My local steel yard stocks DOM in several sizes. One place I don't mind having a little overkill. That ended up looking like this:

Yeah, Sam went back to Brooklyn for my son's wedding last week. (We had a great time). Also, a second on WFO, they have done all my tie rods for the tux and my 3B.

I need to cut my ends off and go with proper rod ends.. When I originally did it, I was building for trail only and used Heim.. Now that its going back to on/off duty I gotta copy your setup..

Thank you all for your replies.
Partsdude 4x4 was able to take care of me without me having to accomplish something I’ve never done before.
I wasn’t afraid to give it a ride, but Sam set me up for not much more than I would have spent and I don’t have to “experiment” with my steering.
    Thanks again everyone!
