I'm pretty positive that the RT side knuckle has two holes in it. I can see the knuckle arm is longer on the RT than the L side.
And yea...... that setup is going to make for some crazy ackerman angle/ toe in gain when turning.

Edit. I got some more pictures.
    Definitely has two holes.

This looks like the oil slinger from the front of the crank. Hopefully they had another one to put on.

Where’s the best place to buy custom draglink and tierod? Don’t need Heavy Duty.

I guess you’re right- I think the 72-81 stock TR And DL should work fine.

Ordered TR and DL from Speedway seems like a good deal at about $40 each. I think I have a couple new ends around here somewhere. Under $100 total

Ordered TC rebuild kit from Summit this morning. $150

Driver side front wheel was rocking on the spindle. Bearings seemed fine but PO only had one spindle nut holding hub on. Ordered a few of these and new washers $25

Around $300 in parts so far.

As you probably know....that single hole setup with drag link into tie rod would be useful for someone wanting an easy upgrade to steering. It's what I run with Ross and D27 single hole knuckle....or maybe nobody does that anymore, but it's a big improvement over the OEM style 2 tie rods. Trivial easy mod with big improvement.

Cool. I’ll have to check what I gave Greg on the “Free Jeep “. Otherwise they’re soon available.

How is a manual box lubricated? This might be the best time to check it.

I’ve been called out!! I worked on Axels, engine and bumpers- Cynthia asked “Isn’t the transmission broken?”

We have a music festival starting Thursday, I better get under this thing tomorrow if I want it apart before we leave for 4days.

Is this the double tie rod setup you mentioned? The Free Jeep can always use some free upgrades!

yep - that is the OEM double tie rod set up.....A nice easy up grade is to go to 'cross-over' steering set-up using a single tie rod between the knuckles and a 'drag link' from the bell crank to the passenger side. As the knuckle is a single hole, the drag link connects into the tie-rod. I think that is the set-up you have on the newly acquired cj and I think it should be pretty easy to move it to the 'free' jeep. The set-up up really helps with death wobble and changing toe-in in opposite directions on each tire as the suspension flexes. You'll still have some bump steer, but at least its all in the same direction and the 1-piece tie rod will keep the relative alignment between the 2 wheels constant.

I see the problem. There are no teeth left on that gear!!

so I don’t think the transmission main shaft was supposed to come out with the TC. See under the Jeep it’s still on there.

I got most of the TC apart. I’m going to rebuild and seal it up before I get the transmission out.
