Yes, sm420 4 speed, 4.88’s, Dana model 18, OD. Pretty common old school set up for a nice crawl ratio. My Jeep is nothing special. But it’s mine. And I like it.

I’d be looking at low gears before 35’s. An sm465 should bolt to your bell. The sm420 is great, but a little antiquated and hard to find parts for….of course a rebuilt one will last a loooong time with considerate usage.

If you post a picture of your radiator set-up, maybe someone can help you figure out a fan shroud for that thing. 240 is pretty hot for an old engine.

update: i installed a 14" perma cool pusher fan in front of the radiator, i havent went offroad again yet but have let it idle and get up over 200 degrees, turned the fan on since i put it on a switch, it brings the temp back down fairly quick so i think it will work good...!not real easy to mount it, i welded brackets i made to the grill shroud , then bolted the fan to those....its not recommended to use those plastic retainers that go through the radiator...anyway..thanks for all the suggestions on fans....this is a great group!!!!
