I agree. A socket or drill bit rolls under, you have to crawl under. A jack stand takes 30 seconds, better safe than sorry. Hate to be preachy though.

Doing some frame repairs and boxing. Should be putting front suspension back on by the end of this week.

Filled in this section and now boxed with 1/8” 3/4 the way back. I’ll box the rest when we get to the rear suspension.

The shackle mounts will go somewhere around here.

Finally a little jeep time in my shop today, temporally installed my new crown after market windshield frame. (yeah I know) it really went well compared to what I expected. The only mod I needed was two bolt holes for the hinge post that fits up inside the frame. They just needed a bit of adjustment, nothing a small washer will not cover. Had a new glass and seal installed into the frame at the glass place in Chattanooga. So all I need to do is install the wiper motor and arms. IMG_4761.JPG

Good to know about the Crown windshield frame, I'm in a similar situation. Really isn't to many options. I'm considering jeepglass.com for a powder coated complete frame and windshield assembly.

Tail light work today, I originally got these led's to convert my tail lights from std bulbs. I tried the 1157 led conversions, but they were too dim for me. The large center light is great but it is only brake light, so I added the smaller rectangle lights top and bottom. But again the effect as tail lights were too dim.

Then while cleaning I ran across these, HF magnetic trailer lights. On the trip back in 2021, one of the lights fell off and got dragged many miles. Lost both front and rear covers but the light was undamaged. So I tore them apart, and sanded down the sides and top to fit the space. Now to adapt the wiring.

When I first got the crown windshield I measured it every way I could think of and compared it to my factory frame. Was very close in all measurements except the glass opening. Made think ordering a new glass from some aftermarket supplier would be quite risky. So I just took it to a windshield installer and had them cut one to fit and install it for me.

I don't like the mounting hardware that came with the new Warn hubs I installed a few weeks back. Just simple lock washers and flat washers. There too many stories on the web about the spring lock washers not holding up the way the old Warn bend up lock washers did. So I switched to hardened studs, threaded on both ends, and grade 8 nylock nuts. I have seen this as a solution on our forum and in many other forums on the web. I used loctite 271 for installing the studs.

Good on you! All this welding here was done with my flux-core. I'm getting better each time I use it.

I got the Pass side corner armor ready to go on, so I looked at the driver side, .....

Welding might help, ...... but first, I gotta figure out how to fix this.

It’s to control the hydraulics from up front.
    Different handle, but same linkage:
