    Anything newer than 1975 needs to be smogged every two years in California. Makes a late 70’s vehicle undesirable, IMO. seems like it would be difficult to keep an old vehicle meeting CA’s strict smog laws. Maybe I’m wrong?

    Nearly half of the Counties in California do not require biannual smog checks. Maybe 25 Counties or so? I have a house in Amador County and used to live in Calaveras County. In both of these Counties, biannual smog checks are not required.

    You do need a SMOG check on change of ownership.

    one of reasons I left and moved back home
    30 years ago it was a pain in butt . to get a smog waver on jeep
    it came from alabama . smog stuff was long gone
