I have 1972 ,I have seen the plastic one with 3 knobs and toggle switch and a metal one with just 3 knobs they both bolt under dash.Did they offer both for these years or is 1 out of year range? is the heater box components different?thanks for any info.

My 75 has the 3 knobs and the toggle switch for the 2 speed blower fan. If I remember correctly, it's plastic.

I have a 73. The place I was able to find the proper length cables was Barneys on Ebay. Good quality
Plastic bracket with 3 cables and ta high low switch.

I have that set from Barney's Jeep Parts, but I haven't gotten around to installing them yet.

x2 on my 74. Kinda flimsy plastic thing. I cut mine off just below the 3 little light indicators and removed the part of the plastic panel with the 3 knobs. I then drilled 3 new 1/2 in holes just above each of the respective indicator lights in the very lower edge of the metal dash for each heater control knob/cable assy. Much more stable panel for pushing and pulling the control knobs/cables.

My 72 has three knobs in a metal bracket. One knob does double duty. Push pull cable and rotate for heater fan on/off and speed

My 72 has the 3 metal knobs with metal bracket, I understand that was only yr in 70's that had that design, but years back that was standard design.
