Warn full floating hubs. Just posting this over here from the WTB as a future resource.

I believe you are speaking of the set screw that was later added to the dial to keep the dial from turning. The Warn
hub part number is 36655. They come up on EBAY sometimes. I thought of getting an extra set myself. They fit the
1966 to 1977 Ford Bronco and probably other Dana 44 fronts axles with a 30 spline shaft. Herms kit I believe uses the
external hub similar to the Jeep fronts. Richard at R&P may have some of the old hubs applicable to your style. Also
depending on what is broken, you might use the outer portion of these hubs with your inners using the actuating
portion. I would imagine they are the same. You could order them from Amazon and send them back if they don't work.
My hubs did not come with the lock-out screw, though I have considered adding them. Please let us know how it works out.

What outer spline do you have? I didn't see that. My Warn FF hubs have 27 spline, and I originally used them in the front of my 3B that had a 44 front with D30 outers, which were 27 spline. Then I moved them to my CJ5 FF rear, that has straight FF axles, 19 spline inner, 27 spline outer.
Edit. Now that i got curious, I looked them up, Warn 60163. Not available anywhere I could find. Makes me think about building a new FF with available parts.

In the WTB section he posted they were 30 spline outers. I am not sure what my Warn kit is on the spline count.
The inner did change as I changed the third member. The 27 spline looks rare. It would be nice to have a build
spec sheet on the Warn FF axles.

Here is an old pdf of hubs:

I will double check this weekend. I was trying to count those splines in blowing wind and sand, they're probably 27 spline if that's what Warn said. o_O

The WARN outers are 30 spline...just like the inners.
I just checked my 'on the shelf' new kit.

For what it's worth, the hubs cannot be used on a stock Dana 30, since those are 27 spline.

Good to know. It would be nice to have the axle specs for that kit should anyone need to have axles made
in the future. Sure I could pull mine but where is the fun in that.

I'll just leave this here as related.
I did not realize that the different part number just meant it had set screw retention. I know the 36655 comes with a small sleeve
that keeps the spring centered. Mine must be the 60165[no set screw} but the kit did come with the sleeve. I am still thinking
the hubs are Dana 44 on Dana 30 spindle with the correct bearings and seals.
The hubs Wildhorses list look to be these but at a better price:

    https://www.yukongear.com/shop/yhc70005

You could go this route but showing 1 in stock:
    https://www.yukongear.com/shop/ya-w61650

One other option is to take the Warn-20990 and replace the inner splined gear with these:
    https://www.summitracing.com/parts/WRN-20990
    https://www.wildhorses4x4.com/produ...ub_300M_Gear_Upgrade/bronco_axle_shafts_front
A video showing how to convert the Warn-20990 19 spline to the RCV 30 spline gear.
    No set screw locking though.

Somewhere on this forum, and it was many years ago, there was discussion about the set screw on the Warn rear locking hubs. Nickmil had much to say about it, although he didn't support or refute the necessity of the set screw. This feature can be troublesome if overtightened and/or not used correctly.
This is another reason my kit is still on the shelf. The lack of replacement parts is the main reason which is the same as the flanged axles that I have installed. Sooo, if one of my flanged axle breaks, then I will upgrade to the equally unsupported Warn kit. :susp:

On my long list of things that need attention, full float locking rear is coming up. I have an open 3.73 one piece axle rear end. Would a guy be better off to build something like a ford 9” full float with selectable locker or build the flanged axle? I’m thinking of ease of parts sourcing in the future. No desire for rear disc brakes.

Yes but, if you can live without the locking hubs, why go with 2 piece? Those are darn expensive drive slugs, when for the money you could have a pair of flanged floater axles, no slug or drive flange required.

I figured the axles would be a lot more than that.

Are these for the offset design?!
I'm not seeing them at the Moser site.

Many years ago I bought a FF D44 from jpflat2a, and he included a set of drive flanges that he also used. Handy.

I doubt they list our specific offset axle, but my experience is they will build you any axle for around the price they list for a generic flanged floater, as long as it isn't longer than X inches.. (And so will Dutchman). I saved my last build order from Moser to make it easier to order again.

Noticed Norcal 69 used Dutchman for his FF flanged axles. Wondering if they might be better quality or cheaper?
