I can only narrow it down to somewhere between a '69 and a '71.

Maybe some of the more knowledgeable ECJ5er's can pin it down closer than that?

Looks like 69 or early 1970, but parts could have been swapped that would throw us off....

Give us the serial number and we may be able to narrow it down more

Serial number is 359972. Looking for some advice on how original this appears to be given the serial number.

According to fctex who has insider information, the 1970 model year started in August of 1969 with serial number 360351: 1970-'71 And 1972-'75 Cj-5 Vin / Date Databases. That makes this a '69.

It looks mostly original to a '69 Jeep with a few obvious exceptions like:
    • Wheels/Tires
    • Winch
    • Ride Height. It definitely has longer shackles, but may also have lift springs
    • Rear corner guards with 72+ tail lights
    • Roll bar, although it looks like it might be a period correct Smittybilt
It has a few rare things that are hard to find like the late '69/early '70 hood mount reflectors with angled spacers. The dashboard looks surprisingly unmolested.

It looks like a solid rig from the grainy pictures.

The winch power cable routing is a first for me.

Probably made July or August of 1969. Pretty close to the changeover from model year 1969 to 1970. If I had to guess it's probably a 1969. Visible features align with that period. Jeep usually made running changes rather than aligning everything with a model year change.

It's definitely a nice and almost unmolested Jeep. The hood reflectors have maybe been swapped side to side? To me they appear to be angled up a bit.

Id be willing to bet that is has been repainted based off of the missing dash vin sticker and painted hood hinges.
The white short shift knob looks like it may have a car 4 speed transmission.
Whoever installed the winch cables through the grill like that should be whipped with the cables after they are removed from the jeep.

When did the dash VIN stickers start?
My dad's 69 doesn't have one and i know for a fact it's never been painted.

Sept 69 would be a 70 model year. The switchover was August. Not sure if the 69 model year Jeeps had the sticker. I know my original paint eary 69 does not.
