My reman parts store steering box has developed some play and my pitman arm developed a bend on last years Colorado trip. Since im seriously considering ram assist can anyone recommend a good quality 4 turn Saginaw box that comes drilled and tapped for ram assist that doesn't cost a fortune. Also does anyone have a part number for the correct pitman arm?

This box comes in 3 1/4 turn and 4 turn. I used it for my recent steering swap.

    Cardone 27-6529 Remanufactured... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000C46JWM?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

driving the Jeep this morning I was thinking the 3.25 was fine. A 4 turn would be a bit more spinning the steering wheel to get around corners on the street.

I imagine that you’re going to pay lots more $$ for one drilled and tapped.

I'm running YJ boxes in both CJ5's. 4 bolt mounts and good ratio for short wheelbase.
Redhead steering sells them standard and tapped for ram assist. Your pitman arm is more of a custom application based on where your steering box is mounted.
Both 5's here have YJ pitman arms on em too.

Are you using 4 turn yj boxes? I can only find 3 1/4-1/2 turns. Even the reman boxes are crazy expensive right now. I might see if i can tighten up my current box and tap it myself since i have a 1/4npt tap. I did some measuring and thanks to lilbuff63 a yj arm should be almost perfect to finally get my drag link flat.

Btw, my current box is a reman unit for a cj7 with 4 turns.

I’m just using off the shelf YJ units.
Yank your box off and send it to Red Head, Blue Top, Lee Steering or Maybe even redneck ram.
Have it rebuilt and drilled/tap for ram assist.
    Could be an option

We had a reeeealy bad run of boxes from Redhead over the last year+.
7/10 of them were either faulty out of the box, leaked, or failed within a month. I hope they get/got their act together.

I saw a recent YouTube video of a faulty out of the box redhead gear. They repaired it under warranty no problem but it still not confidence inspiring

I used cardone 276537 $156.99 +$65 core charge on rock auto. 4.1 turns lock to lock and 4 hole mounts. Intimidating to drill and tap yourself but it’s easy.

    Well crap!
That is disappointing as I have used them on 4 projects... It has been 3 years since I purchased from them.
