    OMIX-NADA is more like it.

I am new to your site and to jeeps. My son bought a 72 cj5 to work on and we're making good progress until we went with Omix for a tub. Bad move for sure. I'm writing this to warn anybody thinking of going with OMIX-ADA for a tub. Their parts aren't too far from the scrap pile either.

I saw some good reviews and some bad on their tubs and parts, most were older posts so we figured we would try them thinking things have changed. WRONG!!!

I purchased this being fully aware that I will have to do some modifications and we would definitely have to drill all of the holes. But to basically have to rebuild the tub was not in my plans when purchasing this thing.

I purchased an intermediate tub. It looked good sitting in the crate. That's about the only POSITIVE thing about my experience with OMIX-ADA. Once I started to set it on the frame, that's where the fun began.

All hat channels were in the wrong location, along with the cowl being off enough that we weren't able to line up the fenders and hood to the radiator support.

If you plan to put a hard top on the tub, that won't fit either. We found out later that the bends in the top rail aren't tight enough to allow the hard top to sit correctly on the rails. Just one more thing going wrong with this tub

I called customer service, and it seemed like they were actually going to help. Well, 3 months later and all communications had stopped, basically ghosting me. That's when I realized they were blowing me off the whole time. They acted like they were waiting for answers from QC and engineering. They also stated that they have never had this problem in 20+ years. Lies, all lies.

They have a well-oiled system on how to screw their customers. Starting with Bruce, then to Judy, and finally Joe (the customer service supervisor). They'll drag it out until YOU give up.

I have 60+ hours into fixing this tub to where it will actually work, and that is from a guy who has 30+ years in the automotive autobody industry. Right around $3000.00 worth of time and material to make it right.

5 year manufacturers warranty my ***

I'm new to the jeep scene and realized quickly that anything OMIX-ADA produces or sells is absolute junk. I have a fuel sending unit from these people as well. Correct ohm readings until you hook it to the guage. The sweep of the sending is nowhere near accurate. Oh, and the lock ring, you'll have some choice words when installing that too.

I can see that there are not many places to go to for after-market parts. They are a bigger name out there, but these guys are just screwing the customers left and right with sub-par products and getting away with it. UNREAL.

My opinion is to stay away! Run don't walk! OMIX-ADA tubs, parts, and customer service absolutely suck.

My hopes are to not let one more person get burned from this outfit.

This. I avoid their stuff if at all possible.
Sorry you've had so many problems with it.
Does anyone know if they're making their own sheetmetal or re-selling parts from MD Juan?

You can pretty much get every part that rusts from Classic Enterprises. Their stuff is top notch. If I were in that situation, I’d buy everything I could from them and start cutting/rebuilding what you have. They basically supply everything but the cowl and front clip.

I was on the fence as well. Our tub was swiss cheese except for the upper 2/3 of the cowl. I read some of the negative comments about Omix. I thought this would have been the lesser of two evils. I gambled and lost. Haha.

Yeah, I saw Classic Enterprise and I was looking at D&L Bensinger. Between both of them, the parts would have come to about $1500.00 less than what I paid for the complete tub. My thoughts, at the time, were clean rust free metal and I wouldn't have to build the thing. Plus Bensinger is about an hour from me so I could have save on shipping.

"Does anyone know if they're making their own sheetmetal or re-selling parts from MD Juan?"

I think Omix-ADA is just a distributor of various, mostly Asian import parts, I do not think they make anything.

I bought a MD Juan reproduction MB tub a number of years ago and it was shipped out of the Omix-ADA hub in Atlanta. I would suspect the Intermediate tub being discussed is also MDJ.

They have been making the MB tubs a lot longer than the later bodies, and there were a lot of problems with those in earlier production but for a few years one of their reps participated on the CJ2A forum and listened to, and acted on whatever feedback he got from customers. This resulted in a lot of the reported issues getting resolved. The one I have is not 100% perfect, but it also isn't far off and fit fairly well when I temporarily mounted it for a test fit. Defects I have noticed with it are minor, I may find a few more when I get to the point of final mounting onto my project's frame, but for the money I think it was the best available at the time.

Debella is a distributor for SGI (an Indian company) and every review I have read on their bodies has been very positive. "Metalshaper" posted a video review of one of their CJ5 bodies and he was pleased with it. I do not know if they are producing an Intermediate CJ5 body yet.

I would not give up, that is what they want. I would contact your states Attorney General with all the information posted here with pictures. Maybe a little additional pressure will force them to act, They might refund some of your money or send you another body. I would offer some solutions that would be acceptable to YOU. Good luck!

Thanks. Yeah, I contacted the Attorney General, BBB, and the FTC. At least it's out there so they hopefully stop screwing the customers

I'm still working on the picture size thing. I've been busy with work and kids activities. I didn't forget ya. I'll put a few up as soon as I figure this out.

Yeah, I should actually ask my son. He'd probably know how to fix this issue I'm having. Ha! Good idea. Never even thought about that. I'm so used to doing it myself. Thanks!

These are of the hat channels. Some could have been ok to use. Others not so much. The yellow dots are where the frame mount holes are landing on the tub.

Here are pictures of the driver side cowl being low and forward which was throwing the hood off about 1/2" at the red support. The washers are where the hood needed to be.

If you don't plan on using a hard top, you'll probably be fine. Here is how the top channel looked with the hard top clamped on.
