Dan, did your Outland front passenger seat fold down like the original? I want a lowback similar to the original if not an original, just not sure where to purchase. Seems the aftermarkets are solid seats, not fold-downs for the front.

Rear seat could be either, I don't care, need the room up front to get to the back when the top is on.

None of the aftermarket seats will have the fold feature of the originals. The Bestop LB's will tip forward just like the stockers, but the seat back will hit the dash pretty early, keeping the access to the backseat at a minimum.

This has been a thorn in the side of us Early CJ guys for a while...

Sorry, yeah the seats do not flip forward. maybe look around and get a set of stock jeepster seats they also flip forward and are low backs. But you still cant get them new.

i installed the outland/smittybilt high backs. i fabed a bracket so i could re-use my original seat brakets with the new seats. they do not fold but i can tilt the passenger seat up high enough to get access to the back of the jeep and the tool box. but in the past when i need to get in the box for the larger items i have just tilted and removed the seat.

another high back fan here. mine came out of an 80's era s-10 pickup.

i like them. i've never noticed them to be in the way on the trail or the road. very comfortable.

my passenger side seat will tip forward enough for someone to get in....if the windshield is folded down, too. :D

don't really have an opinion on the appearance of low vs high. hadn't really noticed. i've seen plenty of each. just different, not better or worse.

Looking at low back seats such as Outland and Classic from 4WD Harware and Quadratec. All say fits 1976 and up original frame. Any word of advice on fitting the Intermediates? Is it the same lower frame bracket bolt pattern? If not, where do I find seats that do?
