Pics of stock spare tire mount

    Need a pic of the stock tire mount that bolts to the rear of the TUB of a '79 era CJ, (no tailgate) Only need pics of the stock mount, no bumper mounts plz.

    Hi

    Maybe not a stock part, but here it is anyway. It has a slight angle (1/4 inch over the height) The inside part is a 3 inch square tube.

    Go a bit deeper to fit non-stock rims.
    That is the problem I am finding with mine right now. I can't fit my spare on the rack because the tire hits the carrier/body before the rime will go on the studs. I think I need an extention bracket, or need to fab something up.

    How about longer studs on the mount you have now? I'm just about to make a spare tire mount. I decided to purchase this to give me a leg up on the fabrication. For $14 it will save me a lot of time and headache.

    Wow, That sure looks like the one I have in my garage that I removed off my '56s tailgate. I'll have to get a pic of his mount holes to see if it would bolt on.
