Concept looks more than "interestiing"!! This looks like an awesome idea, if all goes right. If I draw it correctly and he machines same, all that's left is price. And prototypes to boot! I could foresee this being a real win-win for both ends!

    Thanks for the link, Brian!

Pricing breaks at 10 units, too... so if we find common parts that people could use.... ;)

Playing around a bit with the software today.

Replacement dash boards. Metal glove boxes that don't cost as much as Tuffy stuff does. Early cj5 tin plate for the garage.

I'd have to re-draw it anyway in their software. I'm just playing around with it and thought it would be a good way to check out pricing.

What do you think about making a completely blank dash, leave it totally up to the buyer on what holes they want/need?

Anyway just need how wide/tall/thick it is, I can whip something up and just get an idea on price.

Drawings can be imported into there software.
Brian I have thought long and hard, I think the best way to do the dash is to have it made with the bolt holes in it and glovebox cutout with the bent tabs to screw a box into it. After that it can be used and finished by most all of us.

Maybe we can start coming up with a list of common items that we might be able to design/build here.

I'm good for a blank dash as you describe. What thickness metal are you looking at? Interested in stainless? I did buy a dash from Quadratec but it arrived in UK bent to hell and back, and looked like it was made from Alcan kitchen foil.

Well now that I'm home again I'm gonna go grab my dash and start taking measurements. I'll see what I can come up with. :)

I think I'm gonna start a new thread somewhere for what parts people would be interested in.

I was looking for a fan shroud for my 61 CJ5 to improve the cooling performance. I haven't found one of those yet.

Some windsheild latches that actually work might be nice too!

I wonder how they get around patents though?

Put me down for a dash for a 1971 Renegade. My son does cad work. Maybe I can get him to draw one up for me. Probably cost me though!

Patents don't cover parts like these and patents are only good for 7 years, you can get extension but even that would have been over 20+ years ago. Copyrights like the jeep logo are forever though.
