What is the stock shift pattern for a 66 CJ5? I need to know where the 2WHEEL position is to drive it. The 4Wheel is great but can't get it back into 2WHEEL?
    THANKS,

Moved since the CJ pattern is not the same as a C101 pattern, different t-fer cases.

you could have rusty shift rods. try spraying some oil (wd-40, etc) on the rods and see if that helps.

Assuming you have a stock Dana-18 transfer case with the '66, which is what mine is, the shift patterrn should be:

2H - Shift lever alll the way forward towards the engine
    4H
    N
4L - Towards the rear of the jeep.

    HTH.

Ditto. Try to spray lube the parts, this is what had happened to mine. I used PB Blaster to get the shifter to work freely, then sprayed it down with engine and parts cleaner, then relubed it with graphite lubricant. Mud and ice can't stick to graphite.
